Clinical Consideration on Urinary Incontinence


Abstract
For clinical consideration on urinary incontinence, we treated medicinal, acupuncture and moxibustion therapy to 40 patients who had symptom of urinary incontinence and had been hospitalized in dongindang oriental medical hospital from Jan. 2000 to Jul. 2000. We got following result by investigating distribution of age, past history, clinical status and time, cognition, level, experience, effect of treatment and distribution of improvement period.
1. Age distribution shows high at higher ages, patients had past history of childbirth or operation excess, obesity, inflammation of the bladder, herniation intervertebral disc, neurotic disease etc.
2. Time distribution shows that urinary incontinence appeared during moving time about 60%. Level of cognition and experience on treatment is low at higher ages.
3. When treat medicinal therapy, and acupuncture and moxibution therapy to patients simultaneously, distribution of improvement period shows that 47.5% of patients improved between 10 to 30 days and 27.5% of patients improved over 30 days, 25% were not improved.
4. Average treat result shows that in Gr.1 3.6 points, in Gr.2 2.9 points, in Gr.3 2.3 points. Average treat period shows that in Gr.1 22 days, in Gr.2 26 days, in Gr.3 28 days.
